As previously mentioned, UCBA Executive member Andy Semotiuk has started a legal aid clinic at Ukrainian Canadian Social Services.
Mr. Semotiuk has now conducted two immigration legal aid sessions at the Ukrainian Canadian Social Services office at Jane and Bloor. He would now like to try to involve some other lawyers in providing free legal services there.
The immigration sessions were held once a month on Thursday evenings and attracted about 20 people interested in that topic. The goal is to broaden the scope of legal services provided. Among topics of interest are: family law, contracts and commercial transactions, landlord and tenant, wills and estates, criminal law, and perhaps some others. A meeting of interested lawyers will be taking place on Tuesday, December 22nd, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Pace Law Firm, Fifth Floor, 300 The East Mall, Toronto. Any lawyer who might be interested in getting involved in providing such advice without remuneration as a community service and those young lawyers who would be interested in learning more about how they could help should contact Andriy Semotiuk at: Andy@myworkvisa.com
