On Thursday, November 13, 2025, the Ukrainian Canadian Bar Association (UCBA) held its Annual General Meeting of Members at the University Club of Toronto. The event brought together members of the profession for thoughtful discussion, community connection, and recognition of outstanding contributions.
The evening featured a keynote address by Diane Francis, National Post columnist and author, exploring Ukraine’s recovery and the role that legal and professional communities can play in supporting rebuilding efforts. The program also included a special guest discussion with award-winning investigative journalist Victor Malarek on the urgent issue of repatriating abducted Ukrainian children.
In addition to the keynote and discussion, UCBA presented Excellence Awards to May Cheng and Paul Grod in recognition of their service to the profession and the Ukrainian Canadian community. A networking reception followed, sponsored by Ukrainian Credit Union Limited, Dickinson Wright LLP, and Pallet Valo LLP.
