The Ukrainian Canadian Bar Association (UCBA) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on November 12, 2024, at the University Club of Toronto, with members also joining virtually.
The event featured a thought-provoking fireside chat with The Honourable Arif Virani, P.C., M.P., Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada. The discussion offered unique insights into international justice and the prosecution of war crimes, providing attendees with much to reflect on.
Alexandra Chyczij, President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, introduced Minister Virani.

In a surprise moment, Alexandra Chyczij and Arif Virani were honoured with the inaugural Ukrainian Canadian Lawyer of the Year and Canadian Lawyer of the Year awards, respectively, recognizing their outstanding contributions to the legal community.
Following the formal AGM proceedings, a wine and cheese reception offered a relaxing opportunity to reconnect, network, and celebrate another successful year for UCBA.
